Formed in the summer of 2012, Ask Mary began as a group of friends who met at open-mic nights in the Detroit area. The joining of each member’s various musical experiences and tastes, from pop, classic rock, Motown, 90’s alternative and metal, has allowed the creation of an eclectic sound that appeals to fans of all ages and backgrounds. Ask Mary alters the perception of what it means to be a “cover band”. Their sound is as original as it comes, appealing and fun, but powerfully edgy. Never afraid to metal up pop, or lay down some soul, they deliver the sound that Detroit has been longing for in a band. With years of experience in both original and cover projects, Ask Mary is wonderfully different, and consistently leaves their audience wanting more.

Members of Ask Mary have performed around the country on stages of all sizes including Pine Knob/DTE Energy Music Theatre, The Staples Center in Los Angeles, Hard Rock Cafe in Atlantic City, and many local venues such as The Town Pump Tavern, The Pike Room, The Crofoot Ballroom, The Shelter, Hopcat, B. Boomers, The Oakwood, Cheli’s Chili, The Post, Bierkeller, The Token Lounge, Clutch Cargos, and many more. Between the five members, their experience is vast and ranges from songwriting & recording to competing on national stages with the best in the business.
